The Private Reserves Network was started by three graduate students as a seminar project on protected areas. The objective was to create a website where private conservationists can exchange ideas on best practices. The project began in the winter of 2007, and has since developed into a site for networking between individuals, organizations, and private reserves.

The original idea of Dr. Jeffrey Langholz, Associate Professor at the Monterey Institute of International Studies and an authority on private protected areas, PRN is working to be the center of the developing private protected area movement. It is the place where conservationists and ecotravelers alike can meet to network, transfer information, and benefit from up-to-date practices on the frontier of conservation.

Under the guidance of Dr. Langholz, PRN continues to develop with updated news and methods on private protected areas. Join us and stay on the forefront of private conservation.
