...that approximately 50% of the world's current flora and fauna is bound for extinction within 100 years?

The Private Reserves Network’s Mission is to improve and expand private conservation worldwide by creating a network of individuals, organizations, and private reserves. Through outreach, PRN encourages private reserves and organizations that represent private reserves to become one of our members.

Our Vision at PRN is to become the central figure in the global private protected areas movement by creating a strong member base and remaining on the cutting edge of private conservation and best practices.

Our membership includes an online member profile of private protected areas.  Furthermore, our accreditation process will soon be available for our members to encourage and reward sustainable private conservation practices.

Visitors to our website are invited to learn about the increasingly important world of private conservation, as well as search through PRN’s member profiles of private protected areas. Guests are invited to browse through our discussion topics, as well as comment on open forums and member blogs.

Our blog service gives access to members interested in posting newly implemented conservation methods. PRN’s on-going discussion on private conservation are open to the general public, covering a wide range of topics ranging from invasive species removal to finance mechanisms. These two services provide a gateway to new techniques and improvements through an open discussion environment facilitated by PRN staff.

Another important aspect of our organization is the publication of our quarterly newsletter. The Private Protector represents many of our interests at PRN, keeping the public informed on private conservation news and events, and diving into key controversial topics.
